Tallow Farmers | Grass-Fed Beef Tallow South Africa

The tallow farmers behind Pure Tallow are South African producers committed to raising grass-fed cattle on open pastures — no feedlots, no antibiotics, no shortcuts. Every litre of beef tallow we sell starts with an animal that lived the way cattle are meant to live: on grass, in open fields, under the South African sun.

Who Are the Tallow Farmers Behind Pure Tallow?

We work directly with a small network of trusted South African farmers who share our values: ethical, regenerative farming practices that prioritise animal welfare and land health. These are not industrial operations. These are farmers who know their herds, rotate their pastures, and take pride in producing beef that is genuinely grass-fed from birth to harvest.

By working directly with our farmers, we cut out the middlemen and maintain full visibility over how our cattle are raised. That transparency flows through to every jar of tallow you receive.

Why Grass-Fed Matters for Beef Tallow

Grass-fed beef tallow is nutritionally superior to tallow from grain-fed or feedlot cattle. When cattle graze on pasture their entire lives, the fat they produce is richer in fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, higher in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), and has a better omega-3 to omega-6 ratio. This is the tallow your great-grandmother would have recognised — the real thing, not a commodity fat.

From Farm to Your Kitchen

Once harvested, the suet is transported directly to our small-batch rendering facility where it is slowly rendered at low heat to preserve its natural nutrient profile. No industrial processing. No bleaching. No deodorising. Just pure, slow-rendered grass-fed beef tallow, packed into glass jars and shipped directly to your door.

This is what seed-oil-free cooking looks like when it's done properly — from the pasture to the pan, with nothing in between that shouldn't be there.
